Raising awareness and fundraising for vascular compressions is something that I’m super passionate about.
So what better way to fundraise in the middle of winter than selling hot cocoa bombs, and incorporating awareness by handing out brochures on vascular compressions and showing pictures of patients effected by these rare conditions.
During the holidays, I was invited to have a pop up shop in a local store called Gather’d in my home town. I absolutely LOVED how the set up turned out and showcasing other vascular compression warriors felt amazing! The owner of the store used to be my grade school art teacher. So thank you Mrs. Tuit for letting me have a pop up shop in your store!
It was super cool to talk with local people and explain how vascular compressions have greatly impacted my life and many others! No one had ever heard of vascular compressions before so it was a great opportunity to raise awareness.
It took A LOT of hard work to prepare and make the hot cocoa bombs. It was only 3 1/2 months after my Germany surgery so I wasn’t feeling well, but I had a lot of help from friends (including another vascular compression warrior) and family. I’m glad I pushed through the pain because it was worth it! I was able to donate money for vascular compression research!!!
Thank you to all the vascular compression warriors who sent in your pictures, there were so many I couldn’t use them all because we didn’t have enough space, but look how cute this display turned out!!!!!!
If you’re passionate about about raising awareness for vascular impressions I’d love to have you join my Facebook Group Be the Voice – Vascular Compression Awareness.
I hope to do more events like this in the near future when my health allows it because spreading awareness and fundraising is so important to me!!!
